CoreStrike 45 (16mm): A Paddle That Makes Pickleball Addicting - What's Not To Love?/ by Tuxedo Traveler

I’m still pretty new to pickleball, but this paddle has already made a huge difference in how much fun I’m having. First, I was borrowing, renting, then grabbed a budget paddle - I finally have one I'm so excited to use, and this one feels like a proper tool instead of just a toy.

The first thing I noticed is the surface—it’s gritty enough that I can actually put spin on the ball. Even as a beginner, I can see my serves and dinks taking on a whole new life. The Kevlar layer really does what the description promises: the ball grabs and goes where I want it to, which is a brand-new feeling for me.

It’s lightweight at around 8 ounces, so swinging it all game doesn’t wear me out. The ribbed grip is also excellent—comfortable, non-slip, and easy to hold even when I’m sweating a bit. The paddle feels sturdy thanks to its one-piece thermoformed construction, and the edge guard makes me less nervous when I accidentally clip the court surface.

At the time of this review, the price was $169 (with a coupon bringing it to $143.65), which isn’t cheap, but it’s clear where the money goes. Between the Kevlar, T700 carbon fiber layering, EVA foam, and honeycomb core, this thing is built like a serious piece of sports gear. It even comes with a full-coverage case, which feels like the right touch when you’re investing in something meant to last.

I may be a beginner, but this paddle has already helped me improve and enjoy the game more. If you’re curious about moving up from an entry-level paddle, I’d say this one is well worth the step up.

I hope this review has been helpful to you.
